PENANG
July 10, 2009
Penang for the food. A 3d2n affair, we flew from jb withh airasia. Internal flights were very impressive with the punctuality and smooth flight.
When we land upon the tropical island, cheewei brought us around, our foodie guide and great company. So first stop was dim sum at sen heng. Alot of prawn infused dim sum. Then we went to botanical gardensto whittle some time before lunch.
At the botanical gardens we posed with hydrant man.

Assam Laksa the guest star of the day.

A conglomerrate of roadside stalls offering curry mee, lok lok, wan ton mee and char kway tiao was where we spend the night. It was ultimately sedap.

Next morning was a lesson in history. Fort Cornuwalis.

I love all fabricated. Colours the mind of the manipulator. What captures what interpretted.

Mariana at her open gaped wonder. Graduated filter the rest away.

Great shot from mariana.

These were some photos taken from punggol shoot some weeks ago.

& I particularly like this shot. Think it’s the fall of light upon the face, shrouded by canopy of heart shaped leaves. Or it is just my geeky specs.

We’re turning into a dump.

We heart good deals.

So here’s the haul from SGFLYER.

At this point I am seriously yearning for sharp lennssss. This one is a rather normal 50mm, F1.8.

These hearts we spotted at the SG Flyer. Lovely props.

For some strange reason this shot below reminds me of K20. Alternate reality with Kaneshiro’s acrobatics.

Us six had dinner at Jerry’s.

This is Hong yi’s take. & I like because I looked deceptively skinny here. hyuk hyuks.

& I once aspired to work at this bldg. Along with dreams to be a stewardess and police officer. Who doesn’t dream of working at skyscrapers like this.

Bali We Went.

Bali:
T’was fun. Bintang Beer tasted great. Our driver Wayan proved himself to be a dishonest man. I inhaled more seawater than I ever did in my lifetime. White water rafting was simply exhilarating. Parasailing was too short. I’m extremely happy with my shopping outcome. Of bags and hats and charmed.
Balisandy Cottage, home to us 6 for the next 5 days as well as worms and mosquitos. Otherwise, very pretty exterior.

Our ogling eyes.

This shot is testament of how I truly sucked at jump shots. I looked ridiculously so.

Loves taking children. Uninhibited. Let’s play:)

A procession greeted us in the evening when we stepped out of the hotel where we booked our tours.

Hortpark over again.

Tanah Lot, this segment of the temple is only accessible by foot during low tides.

His royal shades.

Breakup present, heh heh. My sis was selling it at the flea. And funny how no one wants to bring it back.

Rabbits for sale. This one is huge.

These photos from Eikin, clubsnap moderator makes me feel so awe-inspired and proud of my neighbourhood suddenly. The photos were all taken from humble Punggol. The quality of work is astounding and no less.

Kusu Island – Girl & Turtle

The clean & green island of St John is Singapore’s signature. Australia can never take this island from us. It felt like ECP, minus the grappling rollerskates learners, happy dogs & their trailing jogging owners , campers and their mighty shaking tents.
The water here is so sparkling green and distilled I think my years of staring at the dirty canal at my place almost made me forget what clean waters should look like.
We spend a short while trying to annoy them little puny crabs at the stinky mangrove swamps before laying down our picnic mats further down at a more scenic spot. Boon & Albert brought rations instead of snacks. We had a kettle, stove, 3in1 packet drinks, cup noodles, instant noodles and everything you’re more likely to see in an island survival kit rather than in a picnic basket.
At least you know if you’re ever trapped in some island who will make the best companion.
They caught A fish. It was still alive when I came by to see. Boon sprinkled water on it and instantly it flipped and splashed water like mad. I felt sorry for it but not enough to renounce all the meat in the world and say hello, veggies.
Took a nap afterwards. Hongyi’s penchant for napping outdoors with what scorching rays and humid weather must have rubbed off me. When I woke up I realised I was medium rare.
Next destination was Kusu Island. I used to frequent there as a kid but I remember nothing of it. We said Hi to turtles and watch them snatch food among one another. They’re really lousy at it. This turtle could snatch a coveted lump of banana from another only to lose it shortly as it walked back to the water. This happened so many times I started to think they might be doing this all for the thrills.
To fully utilise all our supplies we settled at a pavilion and started a fire despite the strong wind. Just so we could all drink 3in1. The horlicks I had was so warm & good.
