Imagine you & me

June 11, 2008

We all appeal to different sorts of humour. Some like sarcasm, some prefer stand-up comedy style. Me, I love private jokes. I love everything exchrisive, though the feeling sucks when you’re outside that circle. So we played Imagineiff that evening, and i thought it better to have it under a separate entry.

I found this card after we concluded the game. And took the liberty to fill it up, using ps. Lol

It was extremely hilarious when we fished this card out. It was supposed to be Jacq’s name in the game, but this card, is Huijing and hers only. Like a patent.

The helpful minds guy was explaining the game to us and so this was the trial run. Imagineiff Huien were a dental procedure, which would it be?  We all unanimously voted 5. Braces

This is the private joke. Shuyan and I broke into laughter when we saw this.

This not so funny, but stilll… ?? = H.E

This is another funny one. We all didn’t think Shuyi would be honest enough.

And another one for…

Sometimes i think, hell hath no fury like a woman scorned. Not that anyone of here was scorned, torched or whatever, just that we have been mercilessly well, you know.

Effigy & Night Mkt

June 9, 2008

I think my mind is a wonderful thing. Last night, i went to bed at about 3am. Was pretty worried that i might not be able to get up at 9 for costumes. And the strange thing was, i had this funny dream and as i was dreaming, i raised my head and banged it against the wall beside. Instant wake-up call.

In my dream i was watching the panoramic sky view of tokyo night from a very high hotel room. I stare and stare and stare. Then suddenly my sister and I were in taiwan, planning what to do. We talked about yangmingshan.

okay. so we were at eggy’s haunted mansion, building the great effigy. A pity i didn’t take any photos; it was really a job well done. The anatomical outline seems pretty realistic and it’s about my height. Got butt cheeks, shoulder blade, kneecap. How meticulous is that. Esp for something that pops out for a split second in the dark wilderness. We had a fun time having ink stained our fingers and crushing newspapers like no tomorrow. Eggy was very kind to put stars and of montreal into her playlist. I get bored when listening to other people’s music. Heh heh to be fair, i did a fair share of work in return.

When justine went to the toilet, jac and i crept to the door silently, with the effigy of course. When she was finally done with whatever she was doing in there, we scared the shit out of her by springing the effigy upon her. Good scream. I could never do that.

Eeleng and I spent the afternoon at starbucks planning out tw trip itinery. Think it looks pretty good:] We drooled at photos of food from Shihlin & Raohe night mkt. Dinner at sakae. Post 9 i was feeling extremely drowsy and sleepy. I never had the stamina to last past 9pm.

The Big Collect

May 10, 2008

Scene 1

Eggy & I stepped into the Q&M clinic. It was the second time visiting this particular branch at Kallang for me. As we walked towards the reception desk, i saw a familiar face behind the counter. She was partially hidden from view, the monitor shielding her left. The black shoulder-length rebonded hair, the familiar facial features, the tanned complexion. All of them registered one thing.

“Justine!” the name escaped my lips before I could have a second glance. She looked up at me and as our eyes met I had this bad feeling rising from my stomach. She reciprocated with a questioning look and I went…

Shit. She’s not. Felt so god-damned embarrassed and with the kuku-ness of it all, all i could do was to laugh. And I couldn’t stop. Double whap.

So like blithering idiots we stood at the counter biting our lips and trying darn hard to stifle our laughter. in vain, should i add. For about ten seconds which felt like a real long time, Justine doppelganger stared at us waiting for us to respond while we could not get a single word out of our mouths. Finally, eggy managed to explain that we wanted to collect extracted teeth. And me at her side in silent stitches was anything but helpful.

Well, they were nice people. Even if they had found us queer they certainly did not show it. And with what generosity too. of course, we were extremely grateful to the dr chong, the dental assistants and all who helped collected them. yeah, so thanks justine, and your lookalike. we stole ur teeth!! hue hue he he

Scene 2

Q&M at old airport road. Actually I can’t remember which one it was. The recept was talking at great length with the patient. We stood there for a pretty long time waiting, occupying ourselves with mindless chatter. We were talking about grinding and drooling.

Then I heard a “yes?”

Sooo, automatically, I stepped forward and began, “Hi, We’re dentistry year one studen…”

She’s talking on the phone. To someone else. Oblivious to yours truly.

Eggy bursted out laughing in an instant.

If you imagine a speech bubble, it’s like having my speech bubble evaporating into thin air before they could reach the recept. Technically, it was not a reply to her “yes.” It was not meant to reach her.

Lost whatever face I got that morning. The patient who was still at the counter, dunch know if she noticed my kuku blunder. Well, she continued to read her brochure, unwittingly or not preserving what’s left of my dignity.

Last, malaise. yeahh I have not heard of this word before.

For some half-assed reason I can’t get my msn going. Darn. going, going, gone.

Nothing in particular was of interest in school today. Was late for school ( 5minutes), eyes glazed over during the first lecture of composite resins, quietly sipped my must-have coffee during the second lecture. *pat on the back for being so driven lately:]

Watched 5th ep of our textbook from my ipod during the afternoon classes. Float meeting thereafter. Didn’t make any contribution except when Kenneth asked everyone about the theme of the camp. Which is The sweet tooth. So should it be my sweet tooth, our sweet tooth etc. _____ sweet tooth.

And I said very loudly, “Of.”

Everyone pretended they hadn’t really heard.

After that , vivo saw the condensed nel-lites having small eats at the usual metallic perforated tables at the basement. Cup corn and Chicken Bulgogi. Had a little discussion of costumes. Costumes is fun. Something I have not tried before, helping in the designs.

Completed the line list article! hooray! I expected to do something more, but couldn’t think of anything. It’s passable, not spectacular. for sure

Days are crawling.

So yesterday Eggy & I were at Boon Keng Mac. Shahira forgot about her wallet so we’re the messengers. We pretended to be casting directors and scriptwriters, casting out classmates in all sort of roles. Eggy would have been typecasted at a) the successful working girl-friend of a supporting role. the one to dispense timely advice to the lead. b) the highschool girl with strict parents and kuku glasses. Hanging out with the popular clique in school.  Aramia is the 18 year-old working part-time at a convenience store. Always night shift. And she is the spunky but kuku. Add a guy lead who is secretly nursing a crush on her. Hyuk hyuk hyuk. Yeah I added the last part on my own lah.

Meihui can be easily seen in roles like the supportive captain. Scene: field on an evening. From afar you can see people training. So sit our main lead and meihui on a slope. ” That was a good match just now.” ( pass the lead a can of sponsored drink. Open can. Slurp. ) ” how’s your mother?” captain adds on, casually. trigger flashback of the plot.

Kenneth. The guitar-playing lead. It has to be a inspirational story about a girl who is terminally ill and she is moved by kenneth playing guitar to a bunch of kids. Cue tears. Cue dreamy effects. Hui En- mature OL. sharing a box of biscuits in a pantry. Nicholas, gangster who is actually very soft and kindhearted inside. Will eventually win the girl. Syazzy, janitor ala trick style. David. Cast as the basketballer who is always playing at the courts near lead’s house. Someone’s sister would be having a crush on him. A typical triangle.

We managed to do our entire class. Comprising some housewives, mothers, cool-guy, another kuku and yet fashionable one, fathers, principals, gambling den 老板娘 who, you know, have needs. And for those we can’t seem to conjure any roles for them, “I think you should consider other career prospects other than acting. You know, dentists?”

Hilarious time we had.

The Wok & The Bowl

April 16, 2008

So today I had dinner with my grandparents and my sister at Jack’s Place. My grandma ordered hor fun and it came in a wok that was not very small. So she wanted a smaller bowl to fish out smaller servings from the main. Wok was simply too intimidating, so we asked for a smaller bowl.

And when the bowl arrived, she didn’t use it. 10 minutes later, she pointed to that lonely bowl and said in hokkien, “They used to give soup. Now they don’t do that anymore. So kiam siap.”

My sister and I looked at each other and refrained. We loved our gramps too much. I wondered when i grow old, will i start becoming funny as well.

Been playing Suikoden V of late. Haven’t got time or desire to do anything else. This is my 3rd attempt and I am going to complete it this time. I have Oboro now. And the I’m down to my last 4 heroes (shula, sharmista, nifsara and shoon) When I’m done, I shall do a review.
