Sayonara, Nighto-kun

“That’s not a heart, it’a peach!”

omg, i finally concluded Zettai Kareshi. Tears were streaming down my face and it was so hard trying not to sniff sniff with my parents sitting just behind me. (it’s virtually impossible to sit through the entire series without crying at the last bit) Undoubtedly one of the better jap dramas I’d watch so far.

Light-hearted rom-com with excellent chemistry between Hayami Mokomichi and Aibu Saki. Mokomichi, in particular, shines in the role of Nighto. I feel that this is still not the platform for him to showcase his acting chops but i must say, he does tickle me with his robotic antics. Aibu Saki’s transformation from a robot cynic to Nighto’s girlfriend is expected but nonetheless likeable. How not to like, you tell me. Mizushima Hiro, however, did not leave much of an impression here. (maybe cuz I was rooting for Nighto right from the start hehe)

Last episode was good. The ending was far from my ideal but I would say, a reasonable conclusion to appease both camps, namely the who-cares-he-is-a-robot romantics and tne rational/conventional marry-normally-reproduce-normally sides. I was holding on at the last scene where the scene show Nighto resting in his sleek coffin, hoping his eyes would just flit open. But oh well, I’m thankful for the first 20 minutes of the final ep.

Oh, and Ayaka’s ending theme sounds great! Somewhat very fitting and nice.

hmmm..gonna miss nighto and riko for a while now. Do you think fuji tv will make a special and resurrect Nighto? please!! onegai:)

Whee, a morning treat. halfway through, i started thinking that this guy i’m painting here is Alan Tam. Wa..totally turned me off. Somehow, couldn’t remove the buck-teeth effect. gya~

comments dozo!

Ep 8 of Zettai Kareshi’s finally up. Love this one, where Riiko finally fall in love with Nighto. So heartwarming! Aibu Saki is cute at those rare moments when she reciprocates.

Ernest mentioned this drama in passing that afternoon we had wonton noodles at sunshine plaza. Began watching after Huijing send me the links. I must say, it’s pretty enjoyable and fun to watch, considering that I’m not a fan of Hayami Mokomichi despite watching several shows of his. (Densha Otoko, Rondo, Gokusen, Hataraki man etc) And this is my first time watching ernest’s favourite, Aibu Saki. She’s the typical kawaii doe-eyed, petite and goofy girl. Nahhh.. so not my type. I like Kanno Miho & Eri Fukatsu, the mature, serious and passionate kind. Best if they’re the acquired taste when it comes to looks.

Mizushima Hiro is refreshing though. His goofy antics and charming playboy style left him memorable in Hana Kimi, not to mention a marked similiarity face-wise to Matsumoto Jun. Prefers Hiro anytime though. In watashitachi no kyokasho his appearance was terrible. The hair, specs and black outfit were a bad fit.

In zettai kareshi, Hiro’s role is not much of a big deal.  Hayami is hilarious with his robotic antics. Loved it whenever he banged his head and still manage to bounce back with indifference. Or when Saki tried to kiss him but she just can’t reach him! In terms of ratings, i would give one on par with Galileo. Yes, i’m that biased if my favourite actresses are not acting in them.

I’m downing episodes faster than they can be uploaded!wa~ feel so in tune.
